My birthday falls on World AIDS Day, and I'm an American citizen currenly in Capetown, South Africa, where I'm doing my best to support Children and Adolescents with HIV/AIDS by being involved with health and education. I am donating my personal time, money, material goods and offering my professional skills to help them with skills-building for sustainable futures. I will be donating materials and teaching them how to make their own t-shirt designs, which may lead to a future income generation project. I will be buying them toothbrushes and toothpaste for good dental hygiene, and to encourage them to smile, to be proud of who they are. I will be donating baby diapers to an orphanage with HIV positive infants on a regular basis, since these needs must be met...
I will pay for several children's educational fees on a regular basis, since schools start again in January 2010 in South Africa, and it's still not free for all children to attend primary and secondary school. I will continue advocating for the South African government and others to keep HIV/AIDS programs funded for children and adolescents, because they can not yet fight for themselves.
