There is a popular saying DON’T GIVE A POOR MAN A FISH BUT TEACH HIM HOW TO FISH. In this world poverty becoming a constant companion of people in the area where there is less scope of skill development. Every man some how gifted with inborn qualities. In my area where our NGO is working there are so many school, college drop outs. Or street children collecting toxic garbage posses many talents. We have found out some of them and have given them knowledge or training on applied arts, like sign board writing, fabrics painting, 3D art making, pot designing, toy making, clay modeling, glass painting and stiching. We have selected the students taking in to consideration there economic condition. The teachers are trained and giving there time as volunteers without taking any fees. Out of all these students many have now became an earning member of their family. Earlier a morscel of rice was a big event. Thanks to our volunteers. We can change the world if we started thinking of the problem of our immediate neighbour. We can reduce poverty by just sharing our skill and knowledge with underprivileged. Friends lets start giving just 5 minutes to think about others problem. The worlds problems.

Updates

May 9, 2008 - 34 students qualified in sign board writing test and all most all of them started their earning. in portrait making and toy making training womens sect are lagging behind their male counterpart. still we are labouring hard to empower women

May 22, 2008 - people are slowly understading the reason of increasing global temperature. we are also in our team efforts convincing people to plant trees in memory of their ancestors. and desists people to not to be an impulsive buyer and dont bring polythene to their home which is not bio degradable. people are stopping the use of polythene slowly. we are also telling them to carry a bag when they are out as president clinton has told.

May 22, 2008 - as per the skill development programme is concerned not much progress is made. as it is scorching heat at about 45 degree celcious in our institution it is becoming very difficult to work under that condition.there is no AC. any way very few students are coming and learning diffirent skill for ther sustainable economic development. some have started earning part time.

June 18, 2008 - still the work is pending. we have to work in a different style.
